The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are three- or four-week programs for US undergraduate students (mainly freshmen and sophomores). Participants can explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK while experiencing higher education at a UK university. The Summer Institutes cover the majority of participant costs.

Institutional Nomination
The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes do not require institutional nomination. Candidates are encouraged to work with Fellowships Advising on their applications.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
To be eligible, students must:

Be a US citizen and possess a US passport

Have had little or no study/travel outside of the US or North America (Preference is given to strong applicants who do not have extensive experience outside the US. Applicants who have spent more than four weeks outside of the US/North America in the last five years are not eligible.)

Have a minimum GPA of 3.7

Be at least 18 years old by the start of the program

Be able to participate in the program in its entirety

Have at least two years of undergraduate study remaining after the Institute finishes
Beyond eligibility requirements, they are interested in evidence of leadership qualities and initiative, academic ability, character, adaptability, and ambassadorial qualities, as well as an interest in the UK and its culture.
