Global Studies major; Anthropology minor
My research journey started after receiving the Diamond Research Scholar award and registering for an independent studies class with Dr. Benjamin Talton in the history department. My research focuses on how one's ethnic identity shaped Nigeria's nation-building project in the 60s and the repercussions of that manifesting in the #EndSARS protests of 2020.
I loved my time as a Diamond Scholar and felt that so many of my peers who were also into research would benefit from the structure of this program, while also conducting research on the subjects they love. Before becoming an UG research ambassador, I constantly encouraged people to look into the various research programs Temple had, and now this position allows me to encourage more students outside of my circle to apply.
Other info about me: I'm a transfer student who started off as a film major before switching to Global Studies. I moved to the U.S. when I was 13 from Nigeria and I love Congolese music!
