Transfer Agreements

To better encourage and facilitate the transfer of Lackawanna College students to Temple University, Temple and Lackawanna College have established the following transfer agreement: 

GenEd-to-GenEd Transfer Agreement

GenEd-to-GenEd Transfer agreements accept -- upon Temple evaluation and approval -- the general education requirements of approved associate degrees in lieu of Temple's GenEd requirements. Students entering Temple with an approved Associate degree are identified upon admission to or enrollment in the University and their fulfillment of the General Education by a GenEd Transfer Agreement is noted on pertinent student records.

The following Lackawanna College associate degrees are approved:

GenEd-to-GenEd:This Agreement applies to students who first enroll at Temple for or after the Fall 2015 semester, having received an Associate degree at Lacakawanna in one of the following transfer plans:

  • an Associate in Arts (A.A.) in
    • Communication Arts and Media Technology (A.A.)
  • an Associate in Science (A.S.) in
    • Early Childhood Education Professional (Pre-K-4 Certification) (A.S.)
    • Education (Grades 5-12 Certification) (A.S.)
    • Environmental Science (A.S.)
    • Pre-Allied Health (A.S.)
    • Psychology (A.S.)
  • one of the following programs, if and only if the student is certified to Temple’s Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies by Lackawanna’s Transfer Office as having taken a mathematics course at a level appropriate to Temple’s QA/QB-level: currently, Lackawanna’s MATH 120: College Algebra or higher:
    • Criminal Justice/ Counseling Career Plan (A.S.)
    • Criminal Justice/ Police or Security Plan (A.S.)
  • one of the following programs, if and only if the student is certified to Temple’s Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies by Lackawanna’s Transfer Office as having taken a science course at a level appropriate to Temple’s GS-level: currently, Lackawanna’s BIO 115: Biological Science, CHEM 110: Forensic Chemistry, ESC 105: Earth Science, ESC 115: Environmental Quality, ESC 125: Environmental Science & ESC 130: Intro to Environmental Studies:
    • Business Administration (A.S.)
    • Computer Information Systems (A.S.)
    • Entrepreneurship Career Plan (A.S.)
    • Liberal Studies (A.S.)
    • Recreation & Sport Management Career Plan (A.S.)
    • Sport Management Career Plan (A.S.)

Transfer students should be aware that GenEd-to-GenEd transfer relates only to University General Education requirements. All requirements of Temple’s schools and colleges and major programs of study remain in force.
