Sophomore Faisal Shaikh

Faisal Shaikh '23

Data Science w/ conc. Bioinformatics and Genomics major

I first started doing research the summer after my freshman year under the independent research course at the Temple Ambler Forest Observatory and have researched Tornado effects on Temperate Deciduous Forest Mortality. This fall, I continued my research at the Forest Observatory as part of the Undergraduate Research Program.  I also conduct clinical research in the cardiology department at the Temple Hospital.

To create opportunities rather them find them has put me in the position I am today. I would love to help opened the doors to the variety of research that Temple offers to others and show them how they can create their own opportunities. Additionally, I would love to support others in each step of applying to research as it may be daunting.

Other info about me: I am the only one in my family who has chosen a medical related career. I am a member of AMSA, MSA and Health-Link Society. In my free time I love play basketball/tennis and watch the Eagles and 76ers.
