Neuroscience major

I’ve been conducting research since my freshman year, gaining experience in both computational and benchwork techniques. Over the summer, I worked in a computational neuroscience lab at Princeton University through the Leadership Alliance Program.

Genomic Medicine major

Hi! My name is Katherine Hurm, and I’m a senior majoring in Genomic Medicine. My research interests include evolutionary computational biology and epigenetics. I currently work in Dr. David Liberles' lab, where I’m creating a model to characterize segregating gene duplicates.

Noel Jaison Varghese '25

Biology major

I’m a senior majoring in Biology with a passion for cellular biology and environmental science. My current research focuses on the effects of 2-hydroxyglutarate (2HG) on cellular senescence. With the support of a CARAS Grant, I’m also working on a project assessing the environmental impact of cigarette butts in water.

Razeen Akbar

Biology and German majors; MD/PhD track

I began research my freshman year through the Science Scholars Program in Dr. Wu's lab at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. My project explored the link between diabetes and PCOS using a DHT-mouse model. Last summer, I joined Dr. Ward's lab studying psilocybin’s effects on pain and behavior in mice.

Sarah Sahotra '25

Biology major; Public Health minor; pre-med track

I began my research journey through the Diversity Scholars Summer Research & Enrichment Program at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, where I joined Dr. John Karanicolas' lab at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Research has been a way for me to explore my interests, confirming my passion for medicine and solidifying my goal of pursuing an MD to become a physician.
