Katie Perrone '22
Political Science and History major; Global Studies minor
I am currently a Diamond Research Scholar, and my project focuses on the tangible impact that Philadelphia's first Earth Day in 1970 had on media coverage of environmental issues, policy, and the actions of grassroots organizations. I also served as a LAURA scholar research assistant to Professor McPherson in the history department. This year, I am participating in the political science honors capstone program and the history honors thesis program. For both projects, I am pursuing my interest in environmental policy and history.
I have really enjoyed my research experiences at Temple! I wish I had known about these opportunities earlier so I would love to help other undergraduates find ways to pursue their interest in research throughout their time at Temple.
Other info about me: I am the Co-President of UNICEF x Temple and I work at Temple's Office of Sustainability.
