Speech, Language, and Hearing Science major; Psychology minor
I have been a research assistant at the Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic since spring 2020, a research assistant at the Speech, Language, and Brain Lab since Spring 2021, and am currently a Diamond Research Scholar. My project focuses on understanding the communication attitudes of children with childhood apraxia of speech.
I was drawn to the UG Research Ambassador position because I would have benefitted from talking with experienced students about how to get involved in research. I hope to help other students find research experiences closely aligned with their personal goals.
Other info about me: I was undecided my entire freshman year and struggled to choose between speech, language, and hearing science and psychology. While I ultimately chose speech-language pathology, I still work in a psychology lab and have a psychology minor, which means I can speak to being a part of research in two fields. I also studied abroad at Temple Rome in fall of 2019 and have only good things to say about the program and Rome!
